U was called in to work the investigation. U believes JE was missing about $12,000 from a briefcase. Turned out to be former butler/valet employee who may have still had a key, and knew where to go to get the money. El was told to confine his investigation just to the part of the house where the money was taken from. El met JE, went inside, and saw a picture of JE with the pope, a picture of JE with Fidel Castro. While U was there, some ladies came down the stairs, weren't particularly young, E took some photos of the burglary scene, which remained with PBPD. • Later on, U helped transfer all PBPD evidence relating to 2005 investigation of Epstein to the FBI. • only role in the 2005 investigation of Epstein was to work on October 20, 2005 search and then transfer evidence to the FBI later on. • • wrote a report regarding the October 2005 search and reviewed that report and the reports of others regarding the search to refresh his recollection. U recalls the following, among other things, from the search: o • video recorded reading the search warrant, then walked into the house and video recorded the house. (IE noticed that a clip of the video was included in episode three of the Netflix Filthy Rich series). U o Before search, discussed with what was expected to be seized during search. U understood would be looking for computers, paperwork. o sense during the search was that the place had been really cleaned, had a sense that JE had been tipped off about the search. o When got to the scene, met with a tall gentleman with an accent. explained PBPD was there to conduct a search warrant. Right there, before entering the building, read the SW word-for-word to the gentleman, and El video recorded that. Then gave the man a copy of the SW, then went in the house. o Officers then did a sweep of the house to see if there was anyone inside who could harm officers.
