Can you tell me whether there is any program or pool of funds for post-investigation counseling of identified victims? Thank you so much! Subject: Question re Victim Programs post-investigation We have corresponded several times over the years about the Jane Doe I. United States case in the SDFL. We are going to mediation in a few weeks and just received a list of demands from the plaintiffs. Before our office decides how to respond to some of the demands, I wanted to check with you to see if some of the demands are things that DOJ is already doing. One of the demands is for ongoing counseling services for the victims. I know that during the investigation, the FBI obtained counseling services for some of the identifie

We are going to mediation in a few weeks and just received a list of demands from the plaintiffs. Before our office decides how to respond to some of the demands, I wanted to check with you to see if some of the demands are things that DOJ is already doing. One of the demands is for ongoing counseling services for the victims. I know that during the investigation, the FBI obtained counseling services for some of the identified victims, but I have never been asked about providing counseling post-investigation (as you will remember, our Office declined prosecution in favor of prosecution by the State of Florida so there is no federal conviction). Is there a pool of funds for ongoing counseling? If so, can you send me information on how a victim goes about obtaining such services? Another series of demands relate to updating the U.S. Attorney's Manual and the AG Guidelines for Victim and Witness Assistance to reflect the amendment of the CVRA to require conferring with victims before entering into a deferred prosecution agreement. Do you know if there are any plans in place to update either of those documents? Or can you direct me to the individuals at EOUSA and/or the AG's office who are in charge of those two documents? illil li so much for your assistance. I am out of the office this week, but you can reach me on my cell phone at and I will be checking my email. EFTA00211694 EFTA00211695
