I have already talked to him about it, and he is as intractable as always. He wants us [or the FBI, I guess] to waive its statutory protections and just turn over the "Black Book" to his clients. I explained that, in my opinion, his clients are not victims of the crime that I am investigation, which is obstruction of the federal criminal investigation, not disobeying a civil subpoena, which wasn't even served by Cassell or Edwards. Victims don't have a right to get copies of discovery. More importantly, my bigger concern is that I don't feel comfortable turning over names and telephone numbers of potential child sexual abuse victims.
