A December 30, 2014, federal civil suit was filed in Florida by Jane Doe 1 (Courtney Wild) and
Jane Doe 2 against the United States for violations of the Crime Victims' Rights Act by the U.S.
Department of Justice's NPA with Epstein and his limited 2008 state plea. There was a later
unsuccessful effort to add Virginia Roberts (Jane Doe 3) and another woman (Jane Doe 4) as
plaintiffs to that case.11321 The addition accused Alan Dershowitz of sexually abusing a minor, Jane
Doe 3, provided by Epstein ['331 The allegations against Dershowitz were stricken by the judge and
eliminated from the case because he said they were outside the intent of the suit to re-open the
plea agreement. WAIMI A document filed in court alleges that Epstein ran a "sexual abuse ring",
and lent underage girls to "prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign
presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders".D361
This long-running lawsuit is pending in federal court, aimed at vacating the federal plea agreement
on the grounds that it violated victims' rights.NO On April 7, 2015, Judge Kenneth Marra ruled
that the allegations made by alleged victim Virginia Roberts against Prince Andrew had no bearing
on the lawsuit by alleged yictims seeking to reopen Epstein's non-prosecution plea agreement with
the federal government: the judge ordered that allegation to be struck from the record.La41 Judge
Marra made no ruling as to whether claims by Roberts are true or false. Though he did not allow
Jane Does 3 and 4 to join the suit, Marra specifically said that Roberts may later give evidence
when the case comes to court.' 8l
On February 21, 2019, in the case of Two Jane Does v. United States, Senior Judge of the U.S.
District Court for the Southern District of Florida Kenneth Main said federal prosecutors violated
the law by failing to notify victims before they allowed him to plead guilty to only the two Florida
offenses. The judge left open what the possible remedy could be.D39]

Jeffrey Epstein - Wildpedle
Epstein attended local public schools, first attending Public School 188, and then Mark Twain
Junior High School nearby. 26 In 1967, Epstein attended the National Music Camp at the
Interlochen Center for the Arts.1121 He began playing the piano when he was five.1321 He graduated
in 1969 from Lafayette High School at age 16, having skipped two grades.J3'1[3~1 Later that year, he
attended classes at Cooper Union until he changed colleges in 19715311 From September 1971, he
attended the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University, but left without
receiving a degree in June 1974[3111321
Career
Teaching
Epstein started working in September 1974 as a physics and mathematics teacher for teens at the
Dalton School. on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.14211 Donald Barr, who served as the
headmaster until June 197.T,FfficIMFa§1- was known to have made several unconventional
recruitments at the time, although it is unclear whether he had a direct role in hiring
Epstein.(331[311M Three months after Barr's departure, Epstein began to teach at the school,
despite his lack of credentials.M Epstein allegedly showed inappropriate behavior toward
underage students at the time.(331[371 He became acquainted with Alan Greenberg, the chief
executive officer of Bear Steams, whose son and daughter were attending the school. Greenberg's
daughter, Lynne Koeppel, pointed to a parent-teacher conference where Epstein influenced
another Dalton parent into advocating for him to GreenbergSag In June 1976, after Epstein was
dismissed from Dalton for "poor performance",Mag421 Greenberg offered him a job at Bear

Banking
Epstein joined Bear Steams in 1976 as a low-level junior assistant to a floor trader.i4~1 He swiftly
moved up to become an options trader, working in the special products division, and then advised
the bank's wealthiest clients, such as Seagram president Edgar Bronfman, on tax mitigation
strategies.Magal Jimmy Cayne, the bank's later chief executive officer, praised Epstein's skill
with wealthy clients and complex products. In 1980, four years after joining Bear Stearns, Epstein
became a limited partner.M
In 1981, he was asked to leave Bear Steams for, according to his sworn testimony, being guilty of a
"Reg D violation".1-451
Even though Epstein departed abruptly, he remained close to Cayne
and Greenberg and was a client of Bear Steams until its collapse in 2o08.14a1
Financial consulting
In August 1981, Epstein founded his own consulting firm, Intercontinental Assets Group Inc.
(IAG),14.6_1 which assisted clients in recovering stolen money from fraudulent brokers and
lawyers.133-1) Epstein described his work at this time as being a high-level bounty hunter. He told
friends that he worked sometimes as a consultant for governments and the very wealthy to recover
embezzled funds, while at other times he worked for clients who had embezzled funds,130X471
Spanish actress and heiress Ana Obregon was one such wealthy client, whom Epstein helped in
1982 to recover her father's millions in lost investments, which had disappeared when Drysdale
Government Securities collapsed because of fraud.14§1

Liquid Funding was initially 4o percent owned by Bear Stearns. Through the help of the credit
rating agencies — Standard & Poor's, Fitch Rating and Moody's Investors Service — the new
bundled securities were able to be created for companies so that they got a gold-plated AAA rating.
The implosion of such complex securities, because of their inaccurate ratings, led to the collapse of
Bear Stearns in March 2008 and set in motion the financial crisis of 2007-2008 and the
subsequent Great Recession. If Liquid Funding were left holding large amounts of such securities
as collateral, it could have lost large amounts of money.(651(671
Investments
Hedge funds
Between 2002 and 2005, Epstein invested $8o million in the D.B. Zwirn Special Opportunities
Fund, a hedge fund that invested in illiquid debt securities [681[691 In November 2006, Epstein
attempted to redeem his investment after he was informed of accounting irregularities in the
fund 1.70.1 By this time, his investment had grown to $140 million. The D.B. Zwirn fund refused to
redeem the investment. Hedge funds that invest in illiquid securities typically have years-long
"lockups" on their capital for all investors and require redemption requests to be made in writing
6o to 90 days in advancei-1
8 The fund was closed in 2008, and its remaining assets of
approximately $2 billion, including Epstein's investment, were transferred to Fortress Investment
Group when that firm bought the assets in 200068)1691 Epstein later went to arbitration with

Mike Rann Wildpeclia
Rann was comfortably re-elected in 2006, taking 28 seats to
the Liberals' 15—to date, Labor's largest majority since the
abolition of the Playmander. Labor also garnered a two-party
vote of 56.8 percent, a significant comeback from its low of 39
percent in 1993 under Arnold.
Rann personally likened his government to Dunstan's, stating
"I'm a totally different person to Don Dunstan, but in the 7os
for different reasons South Australia stood head and shoulders
above the crowd. We stood out, we were leaders. The federal
government is setting up a social inclusion unit based on ours.
Again it's about us not only making a difference locally, but
being a kind of model for others, which is what Dunstan used
to say he wanted us to be ... a laboratory and a leader for the
future." Rann says he expected other reforms to be based upon those enacted under his
government, citing the state's strategic plan, a 1O-year framework for the development of
government and business. "It's a plan for the state, not just promises at each election. A lot of
colleagues interstate thought I'd gone mad when we named targets. Well we didn't want to set
targets we could easily pass and then pat ourselves on the back for, what's the point of that?"E'f-'1 A
total of 79 economic and social targets were set,[in and in 2O1O Rann commented "with most of its
targets achieved, on track or within reach".1i81 However, the state's Integrated Design
Commissioner, Tim Horton, said in 2O11: "Its targets are really great, but I don't think any of us
have signed on to why those targets exist or what we can do to further them. It's a top-down
approach. I worry the document exists in the minds of agencies but not in the minds of people."[191
During Rann's first and second terms, Rann was often the most popular Premier in the country,
with his approach to government generally moderate and crisis-free.Ewl Newspoll early in 2007
saw Rann peak at a historic 64 per cent as Preferred Premier, and 61 per cent on the two-party-
preferred vote. University of Adelaide Professor of Politics Clem Macintyre said that after the State
Bank collapse, Rann had to re-establish Labor's credentials as an economic manager as a matter of
urgency, and "in that sense Rann had a whole lot of priorities to concentrate on that Dunstan
didn't even think about", with a legacy built on economic achievements, achieving the triple-A
credit rating, as well as its capacity to deliver infrastructure projects.(213
Fourth quarter 2007 polling saw a reduction in the strong support for Rann's Labor government
since the previous election, on 54 percent of the two-party-preferred vote, a fall from the previous
poll of five percent. Rann's Preferred Premier rating was at so percent compared to 25 percent for
then Liberal leader Martin Hamilton-Smith.[221[?-3) Third quarter 2008 polling saw a more
pronounced drop in the primary vote, down three to 38 percent, with the Liberal vote up five to 40
percent, breaking to a two-party vote of 50-50 after preferences — the Preferred Premier figure
recorded a six-point drop to 48 percent for Rann and up three to 30 percent for Hamilton-Smith.
Some commentators put the poll slump down to "labour movement ructions" over the
underfunded WorkCover liability (see 2008 Parnell—Bressington filibuster), consolidation of rural
health services, and the continued degradation of the River Mueray.1241[?.5_1
Newspoll saw Labor back in a winning position on 54 to 46 in late 2008, and then 56 to 44 in early
2009 along with increases in the Preferred Premier rating. Polling taken from The Sunday Mail
during the 5o-5o polling suggested that whilst there had been large swings away from the
government in country areas, polling held relatively firm at 2006 election levels in the
metropolitan areas.[26]
The 2 009 Frome by-election saw Labor pick up a small increase in the two-party-preferred vote.
This, coupled with the "dodgy documents affair", also known as "dodgy-gate", saw Hamilton-
Smith step down from the Liberal leadership, to be replaced by Isobel Redmond.

Park, Adelaide, for the apology to
the stolen generations in 2008.

Thank you for your letter of 18 September 2009 about the establishment of a Specialist
Medical Centre in Port Pirie.
SA Health recognises and encourages private medical services to be established within
rural communities. SA Health and Country Health SA (CHSA) have a long established
history of working collaboratively with private medical practitioners in the provision of
health services to the residents of local communities.
Currently, CHSA and the local Health Advisory Council for Port Pine are engaged in
a 10 year health service needs and planning process. This process will identify the
needs of the local community and support the planning of long term health services to
meet those needs. You may wish totonsider discussing your proposal to establisri

How to interpret this chart
This table shows a summary of the status of al inpatient beds in the Port Augusta
Hospital (PANS).
in an online environment, you can dick on the chosen hospital in the table and the whole
dashboard will update to show data specific to that hospital.
The dashboard displays occupancy per hospital split across 'general' beds and 'all' beds,
breakdown of inpatients, the length of stay, and much more.
Professor Moyes said the
dashboard, which is available
online, will be updated every
30 minutes to provide real-
time information about bed
occupancy, average length of
stay and inpatient flows.
"The dashboard also includes
information specific to each
hospital about the number
of patients currently within
each area or dinical unit at
the hospital," Professor
Moyes said.
"It allows people to easily see
all of the different 'streams'
of inpatient care that each
hospital provides, such as
surgical or pediatrics, and the
status of each of these areas.
"Staff already use the
dashboard, along with a
range of other tools, to help
monitor and manage capacity
and ensure that patient safety
is maintained.

Dear Ms

Minister for Health and Wellbeh
Thank y_9,v for your letter dated 19 January 2020, regarding an investigation into
allege intellectual property theft of two business plans you developed between

2007 and 2011. I note you have also written tamiHon Vickie Chapman MP.--4r

4 GP Plus Health Care Centres are a State Government initiative*" he Port Pirie GP
Plus Centre was one of the last of eight GP Plus Centres to be constructed in
South Australia. These centres are the foundation of primary health care. They
provide advice on how to manage chronic diseases, provision of support for more
in-home care and guidance for those who want to stay healthy.
The Port Pirie GP Plus Centre does not have an after-hours GP service, however,
the local GPs provide some after-hours services through their privately run medical
practices.
.4( I note your concerns raised regarding intellectual property theft, however,
.SSA Health is not in a position to investigate this further as private medical practices .4t-

matter further you can Teach the LSC Legal Holpline on 1300 366424.
I note from your letter that this has created hardship emotionally, mentally,

After the election, Marshall continued to lead the Liberals in opposition.12°) Former Liberal leader
Martin Hamilton-Smith became an independent two months after the election and indicated his
support for the government.121) Following the death of Such and the subsequent 2014 Fisher by-
election which Labor won by five votes from a 7.3% 2PP swing away from the Liberals, Labor
went from minority to majority government. Brock and Hamilton-Smith maintained their
confidence and supply support for the government which provided a 26 to 21 parliamentary
majority.1221
2018 state election

The 2018 state election was held on 17 March. The July to September 2014 Newspoll had seen
Labor begin to
the Liberals on the two-party-preferred vote for the first time since 2009.123)
The October to December 2015 Newspoll saw Marshall's leadership approval rating drop 11
points to 30%, the equal lowest Newspoll approval rating in history for a South Australian
Opposition Leader since Dale Baker in 1990.(241[2511261 At the election, Marshall again faced
Weatherill and Labor which were seeking a record fifth term in office and the "wild card" centrist
party, SA-Best, led by forme( Senator Nick Xenophon, who was seeking the balance of power in
the Assembly. The 2016 electoral redistribution had given the Liberals an advantage of 27 seats
to Labor's 20 seats heading into the election.

Two days after the election, with the result beyond doubt even though counting was still under
way, Marshall had himself, deputy leader Vickie Chapman, and Father of the South Australian
Parliament Rob Lucas sworn in as an interim three-person government by the Governor of South
Australia, Hieu Van Lt. Marshall became Premier, Chapman Deputy Premier and Attorney-
General, and Lucas Treasurer. Lucas had previously served as Treasurer in the last Liberal
government.132) The full ministry was sworn in on 22 March.1331 In addition to serving as Premier,
Marshall retained responsibility for portfolio areas of The Arts, Aboriginal Affairs and
Reconciliation, Defence and Space Industries, Veterans' Affairs and Multicultural Affairs, although
these were no longer named as ministries.1341

Marshall entered South Australian Parliament at the 2010 state election, winning the seat of
Norwood as a candidate for the South Australian Division of the Liberal Party of Australia I81 In
the December 2011 reshuffle of the opposition's front bench, Marshall was moved from the back
bench to take on the shadow portfolios of industry and trade, defence industries, small business,
science and information economy, environment and conservation, sustainability and climate
change.161
Marshall said in August 2012 that he would be willing to sign a pledge that he would not
challenge Isobel Redmond for the Liberal Party leadership or Mitch Williams for the deputy
leadership? On 19 October 2012, Martin Hamilton-Smith and Marshall declared a leadership
spill against Redmond and Williams.181191 In a partyroom ballot occurred on 23 October 2012,

2014 state election
The 2014 state election was held on 15 March. Marshall faced Labor leader Jay Weatherilltwho

every recorded Newspoll since 2009. The election resulted in a hung parliament with 23 seats for
Labor and 22 for the Liberals with the Liberals winning a majority of the two party preferred vote.
The balance of power then rested with the two crossbench independents, Bob Such and Geoff
Brock. Such did not indicate who he would support in a minority government before he went on
medical leave for a brain tumour, diagnosed one week after the election. With 24 seats required

I write in response to your letter dated 31 December 2019, enclosing a package of
documents relating to your complaint
I have reviewed your correspondence and the associated documents. I understand
that your primary concern is that employees of SA Health allegedly stole your
business development plans in Port Pine between 2007 and 2011.
While I appreciate receiving your correspondence, I arr unable to investigate this
matter as it falls outside of my portfolio responsibilities Matters relating to SA Health
fall within the portfolio responsibility of the Minister for Health and Wellbeing, the Hon
(4(„Stephen Wade MLC. You may wish to raise your concerns with Minister for Health
and Wellbeing directly. You can write to his office at GPO Box 2555, Adelaide SA
5001.
I have not referred your correspondence to the Minister for Health and Wellbeing in
- the usual course given your reference to your complaint to the Office of Public
Integrity. I remind you that section 54(3) of the Independent Commissioner Against
Corruption Act 2012 prohibits the disclosure of information that is connected to a
matter that forms or is the subject of a complaint under that Act, except in very limited
circumstances.
I suggest that you consider obtaining independent legal advice in relation to these
matterikThe Legal Services Commission of South Australia provide a free advisory
service on most legal matters,The service is available by calling 1300 366 424 or
(08) 8436 3555.
I also note your comments about the decriminalisation of sex work in South Australia.
The Statutes Amendment (Decriminalisation of Sex Work) Bill 2018 was introduced
into Parliament by the Hon Tammy Franks MLC. The Bill failed to receive the votes
required in the House of Assembly on 13 November 2019. While I respect the views
of my Parliamentary colleagues, it is disappointing that the Parliament denied the Bill
passing to the Committee Stage.
EFTA00264735
-2-
In my view, the practice of the sale of sex has existed since time immemorial, and will
continue to exist without the passage of the Bill through the Parliament.
Unfortunately, the practice will occur without the protections that could have been
afforded to sex workers under the Bill. Sex workers remain in a position where their
health, welfare and safety is a risk and where they may be prosecuted for their work.
I will consider any new legislation to decriminalise sex work that may be brought
before the Parliament in the future.
Thank you for raising your concerns with me.
Yours sincerely

Friends, I trust you will indulge me if I start by sneaking in a
quick family acknowledgement of my niece Dr Jenna
Malone, who is an academic at this university's Waite
Research Institute and her great friend Judy Rathjen, who
is an accomplished woman in her own right and, in a
connected Adelaide kind of way, is our Vice Chancellor's
sister.
I also acknowledge Judy's brother; Vice Chancellor, Mr
Peter Rathjen, Professor Jenny Shawthfirminister for
r3f Health, the Honourable Stephen Wade nd thAhadow
Minister for Health the Honourable Chris Picton.
But most Importantly of all, I acknowledge the traditional
owners of the land on which we meet and in the spirit of
reconciliation, pay my respects to Elders past and present.
Yellaka, thank you for your warm Greeting to Country.
Introduction
The is the second time I have had the privilege of being so
welcomed by Yellaka. The first time was at the recent South
Australian State dinner to celebrate 125 years of women's

From 1985 to 1989, Gillard served as President of the Carlton branch of the Labor Party.[6] She
stood for Labor preselection in the Division of Melbourne prior to the 1993 federal election, but
was defeated by Lindsay Tanner.[2QAt the 1996 federal election, Gillard won the third position on
Labor's Senate ticket in Victoria, behind Robert Ray and Barney Cooney.(271(281 However, on the
final distribution of preferences she was defeated by Lyn Allison of the Australian
Democrats.(291r393
In 1996, Gillard resigned from her position with Slater & Gordon to serve as chief of staff to John
Brumby, at that time the Leader of the Opposition in Victoria.161[3031) She was responsible for
drafting the affirmative-action rules within the Labor Party in Victoria that set the target of pre-
selecting women for 35 per cent of "winnable seats". She also played a role in the foundation of
EMILY's List, the pro-choice fund-raising and support network for Labor women.122]
Gillard has cited Welsh labour politician Aneurin Bevan as one of her political heroes.{24I
Member of Parliament (1998-2007)
Gillard was first elected to the House of Representatives at the 1998 federal election representing
Lalor, a safe Labor seat near Melbourne, replacing Barry Jones who retired. She made her maiden
speech to the House on 11 November 1998.[331 Gillard was a member of the standing committee
for Employment, Education and Workplace Relations from 8 December 1998 to 8 December 2001,
in addition to Aboriginal and Tones Strait Islander Affairs from 20 March 2003 to 18 August
2003. Within the joint committees, she was a member of the Public Accounts and Audit from 8
December 1998 to n February 2002, in addition to the Native Title and the Aboriginal and Torres
Strait Islander Land Fund from 20 March 200310 n August 2003.[6]
Shadow Minister (2001-2007)
After Labor's defeat at the 20. 01 federal election, Gillard was elected to the Shadow Cabinet under
then-Labor Leader Simon Crean, where she was given responsibility for Population and
Immigration. In February 2003, she was given additional responsibilities for Reconciliation and
Indigenous Affairs.13a1 In these roles, in the wake of the Tampa and Children Overboard affairs,
which were partly credited with Labor's 2001 election loss, Gillard developed a new immigration
policy for the labor Party. r'32
Gillard was later promoted to the position of Shadow Minister for Health and Deputy Manager of
Opposition Business in the House (to Mark Latham) on 2 July 2003.[2$1[351 During this time, she
shadowed Tony Abbott, with the rivalry between the two often attracting attention from the
media.(361 She was later given additional responsibility for managing opposition business in the
House of Representatives by Latham, who had succeeded Beazley as Labor Party leader.L3A
