Details: FBI New York requests permission for SA and TFO to travel from 3/18/19 to 3/22/19 to West Palm Beach, FL and Fort Lauderdale, FL to conduct victim and witness interviews in caption case. Approximately three to six interview approaches will be conducted on 3/19/19 and 3/20/19 in Palm Beach, FL. Approximately anywhere from four to eight victim interviews on 3/21/19 and 3/22/19 will be organized through the victims' attorneys in Fort Lauderdale. SA and TFO will be traveling with AUSA and AUSA from the Southern District of New York (SDNY). VCAC HQ will cover the cost of travel under EAN 457356.1 for SA and TFO on this trip. By way of background, the SDNY contacted FBI NY regarding JEFFREY EPSTEIN, who invited minors into his residences, one of which was located in Manhattan, and paid them to provide massages to him which turned sexual in nature, then paid the minors hundreds of dollars. EPSTEIN would also have an assistant in New York set up appointments for minors to go to EPSTEIN's other residences outside of New York. In 2008, EPSTEIN plead guilty in state court in Palm Beach, FL for one count of solicitation of prostitution and one count of solicitation of prostitution with a minor under the age of 18. In light of the above, the writer respectfully requests the approval of travel for SA and TFO through the NY chain of command.
