NCYF Board Meeting 2/28/18 Minutes Attending: Kevin Brown, Suzanne Harrison, Ike Groff, Tom Sanseverino, Chris McKiernan, Todd Gilbert (via phone), Brett Wilderman, Mike Regan, Ben Sibbett, Mike Benevento, Courtenay Brown, Chris Silvestri Not Present: Marjorie Furman, Katrina Kaupp, Dave Cannon, Dave Koch, Denis LaPolice Minutes approved Budget • Last year numbers were higher, allowed us to make donation to athletic foundation • Fields 1 and 2 turf went down Monday, middle to end March ready (need 2-3 weeks 45 degree temps to be ready) • Well balanced budget • Fees going up $5K to pay additional administrative fees and to fund new helmets and other equipment needs • Need pants too but shoulder pads good to go for next few years • Budget approved • Passed vote to raise fee for June camp to $275 to allow us to pay coaches more • We could ask for sponsorships — one per team, lacrosse does it and people are lining up to sponsor • Passed vote to make $550 even for registration Fundraising • Denis will donate his house for a potential private event • $200/couple for hors d'oeuvres and cocktails • Will be in June — friends and family, coaches • We could get sponsors for $2500 each to fund helmets by promoting safety Equipment • Helmets -- $10 cheaper to go with matte black vs. shiny black like they are now — we will go with matte black • At Chris Hevesy's request the board is working to include his team in a bulk purchase. Board decided to table for the next meeting • Pants — in dire straights for new pants we have charged $25 in past for people to buy a 2^d pair, now we will raise to $30 EFTA00307752 YMCA Opportunity • Mark Spellman from the Y wants us to help market the YMCA by using them for speed and agility clinics. Board decided to politely tell the Y we're well covered with speed & agility clinics run by our HS coaches • Dave asked if Oxygen can run speed & agility drills right after equipment distribution. Board voted to allow — HS coaches will staff — Miska and company Grievance • We will send Jose Galavis the code of conduct and a letter that states if he violates the code of conduct again we'll take action and not allow him to come to games • We can fall back on FCFL board if we need to • Ben will draft a letter and pass it by the board • Board voted to change the 1-game suspension to 2 games for any coach kicked out of a game. FCFL policy is 1-game but NC policy next year will be 2-game suspension and if you do it again you get thrown out, no more coaching Coaching • Good option for incoming ragrade coach for next year that's not a dad Magnet All in favor of new magnet, will be provided for Varsity too Chris Silvestri Coaches putting together clinics for K-12 9-12 - fundamentals —"every days" — we could practice based on curriculum from the HS — want to get K-12 working on fundamentals Mix up grades — make dynamic warmup going thru drills Next Meeting: March 28 at 7:30pm at Lapham Center EFTA00307753
