A1A Contract
In connection with the AIA contract you forwarded I have the following comments
regarding the insurance provisions:
16.1 This is the new wording that is mandated by many jurisdictions and carriers-OK
16.3.3 If it were I, I would insist that you are named on the contractors insurance but
only as respects the location of the contract work .
16.4.1 I would strike the words " without optional deductibles". You are providing the
coverage. I would be careful as to take no liability for the contractors tools and
equipment.
16.4.2 I would not give him a copy of owners policy. We can him a certificate to
show that coverage is in force.
This language regarding cancellation should be changed to parrot what was
inserted in 16.1 regarding contractor's insurance.
16.5.1 This seems o.k.
16.5.2 If you are insuring those things that are yours and those you are responsible for
why should you be a trustee for any other ?
