Hi Lesley,
As you probably know, Fortunate Blessings Foundation [www.fortunateblessings.org] and Second Response
[www.secondresponse.org] has significantly shifted the focus of our efforts to domestic training and direct work
with crisis centers, hospital groups, community clinics and domestic abuse agencies. We're clear that frontline
staff who suffer from immense secondary trauma can benefit greatly from our PLAYshops and Self Regulation
Strategy Training. To that end, we've realigned our priorities to deliver an eight week "Caring for the Caregiver"
Program currently scheduled with a number of mental health providers in the region. The reception after the
initial, introductory workshops has been exceptionally positive.
Of particular interest is a program in collaboration with City Kids citykids.org], one of NYC's most active inner
city youth agencies that has a stellar reputation. I am hopeful that Jeffrey would consider a donation again this
year to help underwrite that particular project which involves training their staff in multiple locations. If he
would match his previous gift of $25,000 which he donated in 2014 — perhaps in conjunction with this year's
"Give Local" campaign -- it would be a tremendous help.
Can you kindly pass this request on to him, and if possible, please let him know I'd welcome a call to discuss our
current plans? Last year's income of $140,000 barely covered our expenses, while this year's projected expenses
have trippled primarily because we have increased programming by a multiple of six. Because we relied on
disaster response and donors related gift-giving in the past, pre-emptive training programs pose a new challenge
for fundraising. Our target income in 2016 is $385,000 from all sources; as of today, we are only about 20% to
our goal. We now have submitted eighteen grant requests to various foundations with a possible total of
$160,000 should everyone approve the fill amount of each request.
Since we know we are not likely to bat 1,000%, we're reaching out to past supporters.
Our websites have some great, new videos as does our Facebook page -

Thanks for your help on this, Lesley, and hope you are well.
Warm regards,
William
