From: Marty <IIMMIa> To: Subject: Invitation for Mr Epstein YIVO Nov 30 Date: Mon, 07 Nov 2011 15:47:11 +0000 Attachments: YIVO_Benefit2011_INVITE_v7.pdf; YIVO_Benefit2011_Reply.pdf Dear Jeffrey, I write from Israel about YIVO's 86th Annual Benefit Dinner, Wednesday, November 30. I will be here in Tel Aviv for the next three weeks, but I am coming to the event and hope to see you there. As you may recall, last year YIVO honored Stanley Fischer, the near miraculous (I know there are no miracles in finance) Governor of the Bank of Israel. The event had an intellectual incandescence to it that made it memorable. As a result, we decided to honor Jacob Frenkel, the chairman of JPMorgan Chase International, who was Fischer's predecessor at the Bank of Israel. I hope you won't think it corny to restage the event, having asked two of the other speakers to appear again. They are Larry Summers and Fischer himself. Given the wisdom of these people, we can expect very shrewd analyses of the situation in the world economy and especially in the United States and in Israel. Moreover I would not be a bit surprised if the speakers were to address the precarious position of Israel in international affairs. So there will be big brains appearing on the platform. Big brains also deserve big brain audiences. I am hoping that you will attend and bring colleagues. And, of course, if you would like to join me at my table, that would be great. The dinner is being held at YIVO Institute for Jewish Research, 15 West 16th Street, New York City. The reception is at 6:00 and the dinner at 7:00. Marty EFTA00424527
