Hi Jeffrey, Lesley,
I sent you summary material on these projects mid January as you requested. Now, as the 1st Quarter of 2017
nears an end, you mentioned the possibility of helping us with the shortfall in funding our School Resiliency
Program which we are rolling out in six schools (budget $200,000) for which we raised $163,000 thus far.
The feedback from students (we worked with 400) and teachers we trained (36) was truly exceptional — it is a
huge success and lays the groundwork for expansion into many school systems throughout the state and
beyond. We will continue to work with these schools through the rest of the school year.
Here's the link on our website that further explains the program: http://www.secondresponse.org/school-
resiliency-program-public/

Next month, we will commence a new "Caring for the Caregivers" program at the largest homeless shelter and
soup kitchen in Western CT. An earlier
program we completed late last year was also a tremendous success. Here's a short video and interview with
the Clinical Director of the Center for Youth
and Families at the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital:

and additional background to the program itself: http://www.secondresponse.org/caring-for-the-caregivers/ .
The budget for this individual program which runs 16 hours over 8 weeks is $22,000 of which we received a
small community foundation grant of $7,500 thus far.
This program will launch on April 28th.
A donation of $50,000 from you would put us over the top to complete the funding for both programs. I'm
hopeful you will enable us to continue
to develop this good work here and elsewhere. We already have requests for similar programs in
Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York,
California and Texas for which advance funding support already looks promising.

Many thanks, and hope you are remaining healthy and prosperous!
Best,
William
