Thank you, Dr. IC Dear Class of 2015, In January, you will have your Senior Dental Ethics course. The course will run on the following Thursdays from 8-9:50am: January 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th. For the first session, all students are expected to meet in HSC 401 for a short introductory session before we break out into small groups. All subsequent sessions will start in the small group rooms to which you are individually assigned. Please see the "Small Group Room Locations" attachment for the room listings and the "IMPORTANT Small Group Information" attachment for your small group assignments. Please see the attached "2015 Senior reading list" for your reading assignments. All students are expected to have read ALL of the assigned cases for each ciPcsion. Each small group will be assigned TWO group leaders. Please check the "IMPORTANT Small Group Information" attachment to see if you are identified as a group leader. For the first session, each group leader must choose two separate cases, one from each chapter, FROM THE READING LIST to present to the group and to lead discussion on. For each subsequent session, we will pick other students to present the assigned cases from the subsequent chapters. Please see the "IMPORTANT Small Group Information" attachment for further explanation of this protocol. Please note another attachment to this email is entitled "Research Cases Seniors 2015". This is where you will find the cases for the section entitled 'Ethics In Dental Research' which will be covered in the last ciPcsion of the course on 1/29. The course textbook can be accessed on-line at the following web link using your uni & password: http://www.columbia.edu/cgi-bin/cul/resolve?clio7215567 Please note, the web link allows only 30 users at a time to view the book so please plan ahead for your Ethics readings. The book is also on reserve in the library and 30 books have been distributed to your class last year. The course packet as well as ALL OTHER course information will be EFTA00532093 posted on Courseworks. It is critical that you read the packet and review ALL information on Courseworks so you are prepared for the course. Please note that Senior Ethics is a required course for graduation. Attendance will be taken. You are expected to attend all c,ccions. Make-up work will be required if any session is missed. If you know you will miss a session please email me ahead of time.
