dear ms gardenr, thank you for taking the time to speak with me this afternoon. As per your request in order
that i may help refresh your recollection before our scheduled conference call on Tues, the 8th .the following is
the current state of play.- I am from Belarus. I am currently a full time second year student at the dental
school- my enrollment began in Aug 2012. I have previously filed an application for asylum which is
scheduled to be heard in Nov 2013.( not hopeful, as more belarusians have been recently turned down ) In the
past, I had an f-1 visa that expired in July 2011. I had hoped to attempt to reinstate my f-1 , and withdraw my
asylum application. I am aware of the inherent contradiction, as the f-1 would require me to say i am going to
return , and the asylum application stating the opposite However, I am told that you are one of the most
competent people in this field ,- so as you may imagine- I would be very, very grateful, if you would help me
find a solution. I recognize the extreme privledge that i have as to be a student at columbia and am concerned
that my uncertain visa status might jeopardize this.
