1. Fire hazards including our new water wagon being put on island
We need to list this as a request and include the specs for the wagon.
2. Trash - bottles, sharp metal, old shipwrecks and fiberglass
We need to list the clean up as part of a request for permission to remove the trash, brush, etc.
They will want to know about how much and how it will be removed. If machines are used,
they need specs on the machines. We may not be able to do this during the months of May to
August since that is turtle egg-laying season.
3. We want to put up a flagpole. Northeast side. 50 feet on top of the hill.
Will need a permit for this; it's considered structure.
4. The helipad.
JP stated that GSJ is considered a wildlife sanctuary by NOAA and DPNR. I looked at a
website which seems to be hosted by NOAA and GSJ is listed as a privately owned cay under
USVI
protection.

vi_english.pdf. Apparently, the helipad area which was cleared is the location of a pre-historic
Columbian burial site. Additionally, there is some special, rare grass that only grows on LSJ,
Bovoni (on STT) and GSJ and they fear that by clearing the areas, that grass may have been
disturbed.
5. We have not built any buildings. Erika and I told them that nothing is being built but it
seems that an old cistern is being refurbished and this may be considered an action that needs
a permit. We did not mention the cistern because we did not know about it.
6. Christmas Cove is filled with live-aboard boats. People come on the land to turn the
island into a toilet.
We spoke about this and we need to provide a detailed plan for the removal of any trash in this
area.
7. What work can be done in the interim?
JP said that painting, electrical and plumbing work on the existing houses may continue.
