AMENDMENT TO BILL NO. 29-0239 Offered By Senator Ronald E. Russell Bill No. 29-0239 is amended in the following instances: 1. In Section 6, subsection (b), paragraph (6)(b)(4) page 25, line 9, by inserting new language at the end of paragraph 4 which will then read as follows: "(4) All sex offenders required to register in this jurisdiction shall appear in person at the Department of Justice at least twenty-one (21) calendar days prior to any intended travel outside of the United States and provide information about their intended travel as may be required by the Attorney General, provided, however that the Attorney General may at his discretion reduce this twenty-one (21) day notice requirement if a sex offender requests such a reduction and provides information in support of the request." 2. In Section 9, subsection (16), page 33 is amended by inserting new language to read as follows: "(16) Within twenty-one (21) days prior to travel for seven (7) days or more or more, the sex offender shall provide the following information, provided, however, that the Attorney General may at his discretion reduce this twenty-one (21) day notice requirement if a sex offender requests such a reduction and provides information in support of the request: (i) identitying information of the temporary lodging locations including addresses and names, and (ii) the dates the sex offender will be staying at each temporary lodging location. The Attorney General at his discretion may require other information in lieu of the above information upon the request of a sex offender." 3. In Section 9, subsection 19, on page 34, by inserting new language paragraph (1) which will read as follows: "(19) Within twenty-one (21) days, except when a shorter period for notice is authorized by the Attorney General, prior to travelling outside of the United States the sex offender shall provide the following information: (i) Destination; (ii) Dates/Places of arrival and departure; (iii) Itinerary details; (iv) Address or Contact Information while in destination country; (v) Purpose of travel; (vi) Any other information as may be required by he Attorney General; and (vii) In addition to any other information sharing requirements of this chapter, any information regarding a sex offender's intended or actual travel outside of the United States will be immediately forwarded by the Department of Justice to the United States Marshals Service. The Attorney General at his discretion may require other information in lieu of the above information upon the request of a sex offender." EFTA00584504
