NEW YORK ACADEMY OF ART I I 1 FRANKLIN STREET NEW YORK CITY NEW YORK 10013 December 2, 2013 Mr. Jeffrey Epstein 9 East 71st Street New York, NY 10021 Dear Jeff, As Academy board chair, I am writing to tell you about a special scholarship opportunity that may interest you. The Portrait Scholarship program is interactive, benefiting both the Academy's exceptional artists and our donors by involving them in the art-making process. Here is how it works. As a sponsor, you would review the portfolios of our most talented artists with financial need. Next, you would select the MFA candidate whose work you find the most appealing. You then meet the student (if you wish), and they in turn send you progress reports on their work. As a tribute to your generosity, that student will produce a portrait of the subject of your choice. The scholarship will bear your name and be announced at commencement. The $10,000 cost of the Scholarship is applied directly and in full to the student's tuition. The Academy equips emerging artists with the rigorous skills necessary to make vital contemporary art. We are unique among our peers with our focus on figurative art. The Academy's program is a dream for many artists. Alumni are increasingly exhibiting in top galleries around the country and are having a distinct impact in the art world both here and abroad. The Board of Trustees, faculty and staff join me in extending this invitation in the hope that you will sponsor one of these scholarships. By doing so, you will personally invest in and help build the career of a talented artist. It's a contribution, quite literally, to the future of art. To discuss your participation in this program or to answer any questions you may have please call Lisa Kirk, development director, on or email Sin rel , Eileen Guggenheim, Chair, Board of Trustees P 212 966 0300 / F 212 966 3647 / WWW.NYAA.EDU EFTA00597308
