For the Project: Little St. James Island Asphalt Pathways Paving Little St. James Island St. Thomas, VI SCOPE OF WORK: • Prepare and level existing sub base • Eradicate and remove weeds and organic material from existing sub base. • Compact sub base to insure stability • Apply Tack Coat prior to asphalt concrete placement • Place new 2 inch asphalt concrete overlay SPECIAL CONDITIONS: • LSJ will and remove, secure, and replace all stone and other border edges. • LSJ will provide all ferry services and vehicular and equipment barging services to and from Little St. James Island. • Care will be taken by Betteroads Asphalt Corp. throughout this project to minimally impact all existing areas on Little St. James Island that is not a part of this project. However, it is understood that some damage will occur to existing landscaped areas and Betteroads Asphalt Corp. will not be responsible for replacement of these damaged areas while implementing normal construction procedures. OPTIONS (NOT INCLUDED IN BASE PRICE): • Additional Asphalt Concrete Paving will be done at a cost of $300.00 per ton when the quantity of asphalt concrete delivery and placement has exceeded 1,500 tons. • A Change Order is any change to the original plans and/or specifications. All change orders need to be agreed upon in writing, including cost, additional time considerations, approximate dates when the work will begin and be completed, a legal description of the location where the work will be done and signed by both parties. 50% of the cost of each change order will be paid prior to the change, with the final 50% paid upon completion of the change order.
