Even if it is not symptomatic now, it may become symptomatic in the future. However, if we wait until it is symptomatic to remove it, it will be much more larger then, and more difficult surgically to do because it is adjacent to critical structures - brachial plexus, major arteries. So, if we think it will grow to the point that it will need to be removed in the future, then it is better to nip it in the bid and remove it now - when it is surgically easier and safer to do. I will review the scan. He should also be examined in person. That will help guide us as to making the right decision. Hope this helps.
