I've never had any problem staying busy. Rather, the opposite. Can't get to the thousand things I want to devote thought and effort to. I have friends who, as they got older, lost ambition and interests. It's very sad, and you can see the effects. But that's one problem I haven't faced. I've always been pretty much a loner — in work, in ideas, in social life. Apart from just acquaintances, have very few friends. Some I almost never see. Just gave a memorial lecture for an old friend, an Israeli logician. We were quite close, and met four or five times over 25 years, after the first few years when we lived and worked close by.
