EFTA00639126 There has been a major attack on a polio team in Pakistan, which has reportedly killed 11 people. No statement will be issued however the program in Pakistan is getting calls. Per the strategy, response to those calls are trying to de-link the attack from polio. We are aware of the incident but that the police investigation will determine the motivation. unfortunately the law enforcement agencies are frequently targeted by terrorists in their own right but it is too early to say whether there was a polio element to the attack. we deplore any attacks/killing of people involved with delivery of life-saving interventions. The people and government of PAK have remained fully committed to ensuring access to basic services despite attacks in past.
