Dear Mr. Kahn,
The pictures were sent to you. Please, review all of them and if you have any question or concern, call me and I
will try to explain to you the problem.
There is a complex problem as I can see it. First, when I opened the boards inside the cabinets, a stale and
musty air came out. The mold is widely visible everywhere.
I noticed that when the peoples are entering the Library, they leave the doors open. I presume for the air
exchange. Problem is the hot and moist air comes in and condensates on the surfaces. Some of the spots at the
large window area and the blackboard, looked like there was a leak from the ceiling.
This all can be fixed and taken care of. If you allow me, after I finish the project, I could train one of the
workers to care for it. For an hour or two a day, changing the water level in the dehumidifiers and changing
the Silica Gel when absorbed the moisture from the environment . There shall be no issue after this.
I would suggest placing Silica Gel under the cabinets, which changes the color when absorbs moisture. Usually
changes to purple color. You can bake it in the oven and re-use it as many times as is needed. Dehumidifiers
shall be placed in the corners and work along with AC. When Mr. Epstein will use the Library, humidifiers can
be removed for few days and re-placed later on. The rest of the care, I can write the instructions down and
someone has to follow it.
Please, do not hesitate to call me and discuss any problem concerning the Library.
