Hi Jeffrey,
I assume you may be en route to CDI at this point. I should let you know that I got an email from Boris asking me to reach
out to see if I could help you in any way before your meeting there, since he knew I had managed work in CDI at my
company Geneva Global before this secondment to Gates. Since you're the one who is friends with Ouatarra, I'm guessing
I can't be of much help, but do let me know if there is any context on health or development in CDI that might be useful
to you before your meeting.
I had to give some thought to your question, because offers like this don't come around too often, and I didn't have a
ready-made answer. The truth is, most of the work that we've done there has been our AIDS prevention and palliative
care through a USAID grant, so that would likely not be of any interest to the government. I would say that I would be
curious to know if you hear any buzz around Neglected Tropical Diseases. Geneva Global is managing grants for a number
of clients (foundations and HNWI) on a Pan-African NTD program, and though CDI is not one of the priority countries at
the moment, if you happened to hear anything interesting with regard to NTD work, that's always good to know, in case it
makes sense to revamp strategies.
Many thanks again for your very generous offer, Jeffrey. And if there is anything I can help with in terms of context on
health or development there, don't hesitate to let me know.
Hope you have a successful trip.
Best,
Jenna

This is a really generous offer. Let me mull it over (a good activity for my flight to Philly tomorrow) and I'll get back to you
this week.
Thanks Jeffrey.

It was a pleasure to meet you, and I appreciate the time you took with us. It was a great conversation. That's a very kind
offer with regard to Ivory Coast. Just to make sure I'm understanding correctly, I'm assuming that you saw on my bio that I
was the program director for Geneva Global's (my firm's) work there, and that's what you're referencing. But maybe you
meant with regard to the Foundation? Since I'm seconded to the Foundation, it can get confusing sometimes wearing the
two hats, so help me understand which hat I should be wearing on this one—Geneva Global or Gates—and then I can give
it some thought.
Many thanks,
Jenna
