We're right at the point where tuition from students will match stipends to faculty (and note that my own stipend will be covering my expenses for a couple weeks). Some of the lectures are quite general in scope, and about 1/3 of them are fairly specific to my OpenCog project. There will be 7 international faculty giving the lectures, including me. I'd like to have the lectures effectively recorded and edited and placed online, so as to educate folks who can't make it to China this summer. I don't trust the Chinese university to do this ... to make a long story short, they have a special Chinese way of screwing things up. I EFTA00663703 found someone (Raj Dye) who is enthused to record and edit the lectures for free, but I need $2000 to cover his airfare and room and board.
