Subject: How anesthesia really works

Hi Jeffrey
I hope you are well, and that your Caribbean island is weathering the storms.
Here's a paper (attached) we just published in Nature - Scientific Reports, and a press release describing
it, about how anesthesia works. It's very supportive of the theory Roger Penrose and I have developed.
I'll also send something about our conference next April 2-7 in Tucson. Hope you can come.
Hi from Betsy!
best,
Stuart

Anesthetic gases selectively block
consciousness, sparing non-conscious
brain activities. Thus the specific
mechanism of anesthetic action could
reveal how the brain produces
consciousness.
