Jeffrey,
I'll send Eric the note, I've been pushing Eric all along, I told him the GIV NEEDS completion, since GII needs
an engine installed by Sept 30th to continue to operate,.and Boeing repair is not going well. I will jump all over
Eric now to get this resolved and GIV into service!
Boeing update:
I'm facing large delays with Boeing machine shop, my conversation with Boeing repair, the holes are not lining
up with airframe engine mount for #2 engine, with New machined parts that were fabricated. In the past, parts
are taken from old B727 that are being parted out in the Dessert, however, the engine mount we are having issues
with are all custom drilled when aircraft is assembled at the factory.
Message from Boeing repair:
Larry,
Not sure when test flight will happen yet, we are trying to get the forward mount completed. The holes on the
replacement mount did not line up so we are having to change the angles that attach to it as well. One was
available the other we are
having a T extrusion milled down.
We had no choice as we could not find an undrilled mount. We tried two
different ones and they just would not line up.
We have changed a few of these over the years and never had the holes this far off, typically we could just
oversize them.
