That said, I think it is important to talk about and I had been thinking about getting in touch with you about her. There are two things going on that, I believe, are causing a lot of the problems, and they are hard — but not impossible — to change. They are perfectionism and guilt, both of which can be paralyzing. And, a sort of Catch-22 here is that she relied more heavily on both to get through school. I felt that supporting her in getting through school was imperative, and I am hugely relieved that she has succeeded, but now is then she must make real changes, and it is proving extremely difficult for her.
