I just got back from vacation (8 glorious days in "fabulous" Las Vegas with a side trip to the Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam), which made me realize something I hadn't before: I love traveling! I ordinarily don't travel unless it's for work, so my experiences with leisure traveling was limited to road trips to Orlando, Florida and the mountains in Tennessee, but after seeing the beauty of the Grand Canyon and the bustle of Las Vegas: I'm hooked. So why am I bothering you with this? Simple, I know how much you travel the world, so I want to start living vicariously through you! When you get the time, I would love to see the occasional email (with pictures) of where you've been, what you've seen and who you've met, and I will, of course, do the same. Until I hit the lottery (no, I'm not delusional; I understand that the odds of hitting the lottery (Powerball) is 1 in 175,223,510 and the probability is closer to 1 in 1,051,341,060 (my estimation), it's more of an inside joke amongst my compatriots at work), I want to hear about what you're up to. I'm currently putting together a travel website for my wife so she can document our travels: basically we are going to try and visit the top 500 destinations in the world as listed in "Lonely Planet's" new book: "Ultimate Travel: our list of the 500 best places to see...Ranked" in 5,000 days, I'm calling the site, creatively enough: www.500in5000.com. Right now it's just a place holder, but I should have it up and running in a week or two.
