March 2015
Powerful ideas with global reach
geMilken Institute experts are in demand worldwide
Expertise from the Institute is in
demand around the world, as a
glance at the travel schedules of
senior staff will demonstrate. This
month, FasterCures' Margaret
Anderson addressed leaders of the
biotechnology community at CALBIO2015 in San Francisco, exploring the importance of patient
input in the
decision-making process. Last month Melissa Stevens of FasterCures offered
policy recommendations on dementia at the World Innovation Summit for Health in Doha, Qatar,
while Staci Warden of the Center for Financial Markets journeyed to Rwanda to keynote the
Capital Markets East Africa International Conference. In January, the Milken Institute's Ross
DeVol keynoted the Site Selectors Guild annual meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, sharing
insights from our work in regional economic development. And Paul Irving of the Center for the
Future of Aging, spoke on "Beneficial Purpose and the New Culture of Aging" at a recent
Echoing Green conference in New York. When it comes to empowering people with ideas, these
and other Institute experts are making a difference.
