Subject: Supporting the Global Health Research of Wilfred Ndifon
To:
Dear Mr. Epstein,
I am a scientific researcher who is working in the field of global
health. My previous research has led to, among other results, the
discovery of a method for developing improved influenza vaccines (see
www.pnas.org/content/106/21/8701.full and
http://paw.princeton.edu/issues/2009/01/28/pages/2448/index.xml?page=3&),
and the development of a technology for high-throughput sequencing and
analysis of T-cell receptors, which are key to the human body's
ability to fight against disease (see
www.pnas.org/content/109/39/15865.full). For more information about my
research activities, please see the attached curriculum vitae.
I am currently working as an independent researcher in Cameroon,
West-Central Africa, at a research institution that I founded and am
financing using my personal funds (see the attached brochure for a
brief description of the institution). My current work focuses on
various infectious diseases, including AIDS, tuberculosis, and certain
cancers, and it is aimed at discovering improved ways of diagnosing,
preventing, and treating these diseases. I also work on certain
fundamental problems in immunology, related to the organizing
principles of lymphocyte receptor repertoires (see
www.pnas.org/content/109/39/15865.full; also see refs. 1-6 of the
attached CV).
I am writing to ask for assistance with funding my research
activities. Any contribution that you can provide, whether in cash or
in kind, will go some way towards supporting research that has the
potential to greatly improve the lives of people living around the
world. Cash payments can be made through my bank, details of which I
will provide to you if needed.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Wilfred Ndifon
