Strategy was to chill or pre empt another outlet from doing this story w a hostile relative's perspective. In a sense the story she wrote isn't so critical, it's the idea that the story has now already been written. At the lower level of tactics I would note that: I. Got emails from 5 women saying photo made me look cute. 2. What bled thru seems to be "families are problematic and you did a great job in a difficult situation. 3. Nice comments from unlikely corners. E. G. Mike bloomberg. Andy Taylor. Mars family. These came out of nowhere. Net. Agree that it was a heavy dose of pablum (and a missed opportunity to write on substance), but I'm hoping that we gained some of the strategic value described above.
