a replicator is someone who uses food to make a copy of itself if X is food and Y is the
replicator then the chemical reaction is
X + Y => 2 Y
this brings us immediately to infection dynamics.
if the basic reproductive rate of the replicator is above one, then "food alone" is an
unstable equilibrium.
but i do not know how to relate this to free energy.
i do not understand how to think of the "thermodynamics of infection"
