I need you to keep letting me and these girls see the the differences and respect the boundaries between our relationship and yours. To me the email was a perfect way to do it but if you have a better idea I'd love to hear about it. I recognize that, despite the fact you don't understand it and you find it petty, you did what I needed from you. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it and I'd like to understand what you need from me and do it.
