Has been brutal few weeks. But at least that I start on some follow up. George Whitesides is a friend that I think you would like meeting. Not only that he is a brilliant mind — he is extremely intelligent and accomplished in Academia (he is the most cited living chemist, ex-chair of Chemistry at Harvard), Industry (he started over 30+ companies, including Genzyme, Geltex, Nano- terra etc), defense (he has been working on various defense projects for many years) but also he interest/work is spanning over numerous disciplines — biotechnology, chemistry, various energy, evolution, nanotechnology, information technology, philosophy, business etc. Not many people can do that — and even fewer can do it well. Attached is a Harvard Business Case study on him and his lab. Also attached is a list of various projects in his lab and a partial list of the publication. If you have time read his assay on various topics from — it summarize some of his thinking — from chemistry, science, immortality, how humans and computers are different, which are the major questions is science and so on. There are some differences — he is much older, conservative and slightly uptight — nevertheless, his dry sense of humor and brilliant mind make these differences smaller.
