1.
CLOTHES WASHING MACHINES SHALL CONFORM TO
AMERICAN SOCIETY OF SANITARY ENGINEERING ASSE 1007.
2.
THE WATER SUPPLY TO CLOTHES WASHING MACHINES
SHALL BE PROTECTED AGAINST BACKFLOW BY AN AIR GAP
INSTALLED INTEGRALLY WITHIN THE MACHINE OR WITH
THE INSTALLATION OF A BACKFLOW PREVENTER.
3.
THE WASTE FROM CLOTHES WASHING MACHINES SHALL
DISCHARGE THROUGH AN AIR BREAK INTO A STANDPIPE
OR INTO A LAUNDRY SINK. THE TRAP AND FIXTURE DRAIN
FOR A CLOTHES WASHER MACHINE STANDPIPE SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 2 INCHES IN DIAMETER. THE CLOTHES
WASHER MACHINE FIXTURE DRAIN SHALL CONNECT TO A BRANCH DRAIN OR DRAINAGE STACK A MINIMUM OF
3 INCHES IN DIAMETER.
WATER CLOSET NOTES
1.
WATER CLOSETS SHALL CONFORM TO AMERICAN SOCIETY OF
MECHANICAL ENGINEERS ASME 112.19.2 (VITREOUS CHINA
PLUMBING FIXTURES) AND THE HYDROLIC REQUIREMENTS OF
ASME 112.19.6 (HYDROUC PERFORMANCE REOUIREMENTS
FOR WATER CLOSETS AND URINALS).
2.
WATER CLOSETS THAT PERMIT THE BACKFLOW OF THE
CONTENTS OF THE BOWL INTO THE FLUSH TANK SHALL BE
PROHIBITED.
3.
FLUSH TANKS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH OVERFLOWS
DISCHARGING TO THE WATER CLOSET CONNECTED THERETO
AND SUCH OVERFLOW SHALL BE OF SUFFICIENT SIZE TO
PREVENT FLOODING THE TANK AT THE MAXIMUM RATE AT
WHICH THE TANKS ARE SUPPLIED WITH WATER ACCORDING
TO THE MANUFACTURER'S DESIGN CONDITIONS.
4.
ALL PARTS OF THE FLUSH TANK SHALL BE ACCESSIBLE FOR
REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT.

WATER CLOSETS SHALL BE EOUIPED WITH SEATS OF SMOOTH.
NONABSORBENT MATERIAL AND SHALL BE PROPERLY SIZED
FOR THE WATER CLOSET BOWL TYPE.
6.
THE MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE FLOW RATE FOR WATER CLOSETS
SHALL BE I.6 GALLONS PER FLUSHING CYCLE.

SINK NOTES
I.
SINKS SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH WASTE OUTLETS NOT LESS
THAN 1.5 INCHES IN DIAMETER A STRAINER. CROSSBAR. OR
OTHER DEVICE SHALL BE PROVIDED TO RESTRICT THE CLEAR
OPENING OF THE WASTE OUTLET.
