Project Title:
CABIN PRESSURE - REVISE CABIN ALTITUDE TO 6,500 FEET IN LIEU OF 8,000 FEET AT
41,000 FEET FLIGHT ALTLTUDE - LOWER CABIN ALTITUDE - BBJ
Description of Change:
Provide an FAA approved Boeing STC package, service bulletin, Kit of parts and applicable
document revisions as required to maintain a BBJ cabin altitude of 6,500 ft at a cruise altitude of
41,000 ft in lieu of the standard cabin altitude of 8,000 ft.
The customer will be required to perform the following:
1) For airplane line numbers less than 1824. Contract with Nord Micro for reworking the existing
Cabin Pressure Controllers (Nord-Micro p/n 7121-19971-01A (2) two per airplane) with revised
software for a new Cabin Altitude Schedule for the new cabin altitude. (Nord-Micro LCA part number
7121-19971-01BA)
2) Purchase PATS Aux Fuel System Service Bulletin or equivalent to revise the aux tank pressure
relief valve to be compatible with the Lower Cabin Altitude change. Note: Contact PATS to verify if
the intent of this bulletin has already been installed on your airplane. If PATS bulletin is required it will
necessitate the removal of the aux fuel tank for installation.
3) Review, for compatibility with LCA, all in-service repairs done on the pressure vessel. Utilize LCA
Roadmap for further definition of steps required for assessment compatibility. (This service can be
separately requested from Boeing.)
4) Review, for compatibility with LCA, all existing (and expected to be installed at time of LCA
installation) STC's on the airplane. Utilize LCA Roadmap for further definition of steps required for
assessment compatibility. (This is a standard regulatory procedure.)
The Boeing STC package will provide instructions for the following:
- Replacing the existing Maximum Pressure Safety Relief Valves (two per airplane) with new Valves
that open at an increased delta pressure across the fuselage compatible with a cabin altitude of 6,500
ft.
- Replacing the existing Flight Deck Cabin Pressure Indicator with a new Indicator.
- Modifications to prevent the new Safety Relief Valve from being interchangeable with the standard
8000 foot cabin parts.
- For airplane line numbers less than 779 only. Parts and instructions to install wing stringer stiffeners
will be provided as part of the LCA kit.

If required, Boeing will provide manual revisions required for Aircraft return to service with this Kit.
For other manuals, Boeing will provide manual revisions if Customer has a revision service
agreement with Boeing for the affected manuals.
