Probably the quickest way to get water over to GSJ from LSJ while future plans are being considered is to procure a
water tanker truck and barge it over from LSJ. Tankers can be obtained in several sizes from a couple thousand gallons
to 5,000 gallons. Many of the water haulers on St Thomas use 5,000 gallon tankers. The truck could drive to the existing
storage cistern on LSJ and fill up, barge it over on the LSJ barge and then pump it from the truck on the barge on the
beach at GSJ to the present storage cistern.
As we discussed, running a sub aqueous pipeline from LSJ to GSJ is not out of the question but presents several unique
problems in environmental permitting, design and installation. The attached photo shows a possible route that is about
6700 feet. This would require a design by a marine engineer and a quote from a professional underwater pipe
installation contractor and environmental permitting costs addressed. TSG is not equipped to assist in this endeavor.
You would also need a special purpose pumping system to move the water this distance from cistern to cistern.
Regarding the small Marine Bluewater RO plants, this is also an option but TSG does not install or service other
manufacturer's equipment. TSG is a design-build-operate company that is based on recurring revenue from
of the
equipment that we design and install. We will be happy to quote a smaller plant than 25Kgals/day. The smallest plant
we provide is 10,000 gals/day. We trust you understand our position.
Thanks for the chance to provide input today. Call anytime.
