(response to Boris' mail) As Boris says, he and I have been discussing opportunities for him to identify, work with and make investments in early stage-companies doing breakthrough work in life sciences and technology. Boris has demonstrated a strong talent and passion for this but our business structure doesn't allow for Boris to direct 100% of his time in this type of role. As such, we have been discussing and planning for an eventual transition that will allow Boris to fulfill this ambition. Over the past 6 years with the foundation and the last 3 of those working directly with me, Boris has made a major contribution to our success. Now, with our programs established and working so well Boris has decided to start the process of taking this next career step. Although I am sad to see him go, he does so with my full support and confidence. Boris has agreed to continue working with us through the end of the year to ensure a successful transition on the projects he is involved in.
