He was very helpful and said he knew how difficult the situation was for both you and Bill. He clarified the severance issue, and said he didn't believe it would need to be paid over time , it would simply be a payment from someone in the office and no questions would be asked, internally. He alleviated the concern regarding too many people being aware of a severance payment as an agreed amount would be paid, totally private , and if documents needed to be drafted the gates law firm would do it. He said there was flexibility regarding your participation in the investments in foundation medicine and research gate , and asked that i prepare some suggestions for mechanics. He said that you would remain attending some meetings.after sept and maybe some even into the new year. ( rand ). He stressed how everyone wanted the same outcome to make the transistion easy. we talked a bit about khosla. he mentioned both you and he have good contacts there. but did not know if the relevant niche existed. Im certain that my meeting face to face with Bill will be productive. He said that Bill had some time next thurs or friday. ( those days are tricky for me, but let me see what i can do ) , and said that it was his understanding that an email should go out no later than the first week of aug, announcing your transition ( did not know exactly why ) but would check and get back, He was very sincere in his wanting to help .
