I was successful in finding out, what the island has to offer in terms of Palms, trees, plants, and landscape material. Arid also the components related to the extraction, transportation, and also loading and unloading, of the material desired. In the Following few emails I will provide photos and descriptions of all I was able to find in St.Croix, for your review. The first place I visited upon arrival was the Gordon Finch Molasses Pier, which is where large tankers come in weekly to fill huge Tanks with Molasses from Columbia. that is used in the production Of Cruzan Rum, and also Captain Morgan Rum, at the two Rum distilleries. *This is also the only pier/dock in St.Croix that The MN Commander ever uses. The depth of the water is 30' and there is solid concrete dock/pier and loading area. The whole area is fenced and locked and under the control of the VI PA. I had to arrange with the dock master to open the gate and let me take pictures. He told me that If we wanted to bring our own vessel here it's fine there will only be a Port Authority fee to be paid, and then we are good, the same goes for trucks coming in to the site. If we needed it, there is protected space for holding as well. As for cranes, front loaders or equipment for loading and unloading, there is nothing on site. All of that would have to be brought in. The fact that this is a "Molasses Dock' is good since Molasses shipments only come in once or twice a week, so the rest of the time, this area is wide open. Which would make any loading we may do very easy and un-pressured.
