From: Richard Barnett < To: darrenindike <->, jeffrey Epstein <[email protected]> Subject: Quality of Life at 9 East with Construction project at 12-14 east 72nd Street Date: Wed, 29 Jun 2011 23:04:08 +0000 Importance Normal Darren as you requested the following is a list of problems with the quality of life at 71st street since the removal of bed rock at 12-14 East 72nd street started on Friday June 24th . The construction management Merrick Realty INC. is using a large jack hammer to remove the bedrock behind the property line at the rear of 9 east 71st street facing North, from the north east corner of the building to the north west corner , continuing north to 72nd street to a level of 25 feet below street level. This is the 1st stage of the removal , being the rock formation is so hard the Jack hammering is causing extreme noise and vibration at 9 east 71st street from the sc- level, c-level ,lst to the 6th floor from 7:30 am till 5:30 or 6:00pm . The 1st & 2nd floors are impossible to work , hold business meetings or to live while the jack hammer is in operation. The dinning room where Mr. Epstein holds most of his business meetings on the 1st floor is unusable during these hours, the construction will continue on with for a period of at least 3 to 4 months with this type of rock removal i was told by their management they will also bring in rock drillers to help remove the solid bed rock to help with the constant jack hammering. So far the construction management feels they are in normal decibel noise range. This needs to be tested inside the house also all walls need to be photographed and checked for vibration damage. I think I t would be a good time to bring our own inspection team to monitor this situation .Richard EFTA00913884
