From: "Scott Komspan" To: <[email protected]>,"Roy BLACK" Subject: Re: Re: Date: Thu, 30 Jun 2011 21:10:13 +0000 Sure it can be. During the criminal matter basically only Roy from our firm worked on your matter with from time-to-time support from a person or two in our firm. When Roy was basically serving as an advisor during the criminal case you had many other lawyers and law firms that were doing the heavy lifting. After the first 30-60 days after we were first retained you shifted the day-to-day handling of your matters to others. Our bills are higher now because Roy, Jackie and a couple other lawyers at our office really became the primary on the Federal matter with little notice and having to get on it on an emergency basis. Our fees are nothing more than a product of how much time spent by how many people needed and there are the numbers. If we were tasked over the years with the day to day leadership on your criminal and related matters, Roy would have spent more time and would have had to have more of Mark, Jackie and others to deal with all the work. We didn't and Roy was basically an advisor having some time for a few months and then almost no time for many months. Take a look at your bills from Goldberger, Lyons, Lefkowitz, Lefcourt, Lewis/rein and the many others over the years that were in leadership roles for Team Epstein. Many of them at the same time. I strongly suspect you will see how big your expenditures were back then. We were a very small part of that. The scope of our work was much different back then. Hope this helps.
