Jeffrey
I assume that you are referring to the article on Mahmoud Jibril. YES, I have known for more than a month
that Jibril is leaving his post as Chairman of the Executive Council of the TNC and Interim Prime Minister of
Libya. But to be honest, I have been told two different stories. One is that he is being forced out and the second
that he is leaving public service to make money, (which he can't do as a government official and the pie is being
cut up now). More importantly, he has little chance to become Libya's first President, so leaving office claiming
WIN is the wise decision.
REMEMBER: Although Jibril lived in the US for almost a decade, where he received both a Masters and PhD
in political science and taught strategic planning at the University of Pittsburgh for several years, the hardliners
in the TNC don't like or trust him because he worked in the Gaddafi regime as the head of Libya's National
Economic Development Board (NEDB) until this Spring. More importantly for us.... one of the guys that I
wanted to bring into NYC to meet with you last month was Fadel Hshad, Senior Advisor to Jibril. At my (and
Dr. Fadi Noah) urging, he is also the guy who is being given the mandate from the TNC (signed by Dr. Ali
Tarhouni, Minister of Finance), to negotiate a settlement with Goldman. So when I tell you this I got this
information from someone in the inside.
If you are still interested in working with us, Mr. Hshad wants to come to NYC next week with the mandate, to
start the process. They just called me to ask for the process
Call Me
I await your thoughts...
Sincerely,
Greg
