If they are approved to come over we will go over the design. We then can make a decision to send them back with specs and they build it in PR and bring it over. Bottom line is that way to much millwork was put on the shoulders of K&S. I know I am new at this but how did anyone expect them to get everything done in the first place. By him not showing up today, really bothers me especially in that we are critically trying to get this area done for an arrival on Tuesday, and he knows what we are up against. We finally got in touch with him late this afternoon and he says he will be here tomorrow but I won't believe till I see him on the crew boat. I am looking at all the invoices he has submitted along with change orders to try and make sense of it all. Why no retainage on his work is my first question as we could of protected ourselves to a point with that money? I apologize for being Monday morning quarterback but I call them like I see them and I agree they do great work at a good price but there are additional costs that come with dealing with a sub like this. Have a good evening Marc On Nov 16, 2011, at 7:19 PM, "Gary Kerney" < > wrote: I believe we bought the 2 1/2 thick frame material as part of the contract with k&s. 1,700? Do the pr workers understand the design. Extra thick frame and 3" louvers I think the lover doors have to be made in a millwork shop and fitted to our onsite frame Sent from my iPhone On Nov 16, 2011, at 5:37 PM, "Jeffrey epstein" <[email protected]> wrote: 199 Sony for all the typos .Sent from my iPhone Begin forwarded message: EFTA00924710 From: Marc Dober Date: November 16, 2011 4:15:48 PM EST To: Jeffrey Epstein [email protected]> Cc: Richard Kahn <I thomas melnick Subject: Re: K&S Subcontractor no-show Jeff, As a follow up to this: Here are some numbers : To date we do not owe K&S anything currently. They need to finish some work that was not completed. We have a pending change order that has NOT been approved for $9,730 for manufacture breezeway doors and to manufacture the shutters for the chillax bathroom. We also have a change order for to redo the bathroom windows and the additional breezeway doors plus installation of both for $10,600. At this point we should not put up with the BS K&S is giving us. Yes, they do good work but they show up when they want to which is unacceptable especially when we have a tight deadline. My contact in Puerto Rico can have two very highly skilled millworkers over here tomorrow for $9k for 40hrs of work ($75 /hour ), airfare (approx. $600), per diem ($35/ day), and 15% overhead/profit ($1k), accommodations would be about $400. We would put these two guys on getting the chillax bathroom, breezeways doors done. Marc Jeff, The K&S guys did not show up this morning and wanted to propose bringing in two guys from a company that have dealt with in Puerto Rico. With this guy not showing up, the millwork that still needs to be completed by the time of your arrival won't be done. I am getting the pricing together now and have the two guys on hold awaiting the approval. We will bill back K&S for this as he knows this is crunch time and not to show up is unacceptable. Please let me know if this ok to proceed. Thanks EFTA00924711 Marc EFTA00924712
