In fact I never heard about any of this until the letter from Deborah a few weeks ago, which I forwarded to you, in which Deborah informed us that she had asked Max to distribute funds from the Marital Trust for our taxes. Let me repeat what happened then. When I received that letter, we checked carefully to see if we had ever received any notification of this. There was none. We then wrote to Nick Nichols, the accountant, to ask him to tell us the amount for the taxes that were due, so we could check against what we paid and see whether the claimed distribution from the Marital Trust went directly to the Treasury, thus reducing the taxes we paid by that sum. That was about 3 weeks ago. We have had no answer. So we have no idea whether there ever was a distribution to me from the Marital Trust, or if there was, to where it went. With regard to distributions to children or grandchildren, at least in 2016 we have no record of even having been consulted, and have no record of any formal authorization for earlier years.
