To all our wonderful Friends and Family,
Over the past 5 months, I've been suffering with unexplained headaches,
culminating in very bad abdominal pain, and as of last night, shortness of breath.
Linda took me to the Emergency Room, and my suspicions were unfortunately
very true. After having completely normal blood work, but a suspicious chest X-Ray,
my Internist recommended we proceed to the ER. After more testing, multiple Cat-Scans,
and alot of waiting, I was told I came up with the bad luck of the draw.
I have metastatic lung cancer (odd, being a non-smoker)
not odd, that both my parents
[both smokers], died of lung cancer. Well, the fact that I had no breathing symptoms till last
night,
led me to surmise that there was more. The cancer metastacized to liver, pituitary, bone
Needless to say Linda and I are both numb, and trying to figure out what direction to turn.
One of my closest and best friends from childhood is a fantastic Oncologist in S,
and he'll
help guide us
through this mess. Obviously more information is needed in order to make rational
decisions.
Folks, THIS AIN'T GOOD, but I'm from Brooklyn, and learned how to take care of business
early on.
Here are my requests to you all:
1. Please don't call Linda or me....We won't be taking calls about this mess for a while.
2.
E-mails are cool, but I can't guarantee how soon I'll respond.
3.
Keep Linda and me in your thoughts, prayers, songs....whatever.
4.
Jokes are always welcome.
Linda and I LOVE YOU ALL 111111111
Peace, and ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF EVERY DAY.
