The best rate on a good airline seems to be the same Cathay Pacific flight on Dec 3-11th via Hong Kong which prices out at $7,562.00 I would prefer to take this obviously... however have been thinking that it would be useful to have 2-3 k for incidentals etc.. whilst I'm there since I don't know how much, if anything will be covered and i I don't want to get too out of pocket, so if it's either or it might be smarter for me to chose the cheaper flight and have some petty cash.
