I have a friend from Russia named Mila that overextended her stay in USA. She is currently leaving in SF on start-up company but her status is questionable. She would like to correct her mistake and somehow secure her stay / get some legal status. I know that overextending on visa is never good and easy to fix. Nevertheless, she was mentioning that for her is even harder to do so as she was on some "boat visa" /transit for the crew that is even more complicated. Would it be possible that you talked with her over the phone and see if there is anything that can be done. I am afraid that it will need to be VERY creative. Not sure if immigration reform might help. If OK with you I would connect you with her directly to arrange a call. The ironic part is that they both worked at Microsoft and I believe that Ed still has some connection with them. Small world!
