Krauss" < Hi Lawrence, In response to whether your videos online and talking to general public is inspiring, here is my personal story: In 2010, I was a 2nd year graduate student in physics at Columbia when it become clear that I wouldn't be able to find a PhD advisor in theoretical cosmology/high energy because the group there had a funding crunch. I had only recently started watching atheists and science videos and after coming across some of your debates, and your public discussion with Richard Dawkins at Stanford, I stumbled on your universe from nothing video. I watched the whole thing and immediately googled you and through your ASU website, I contacted you about a possible transfer to finish my PhD under your guidance. You responded to my email within minutes and here I am almost 2.5 years later, sitting on Mt Stromolo finishing my second paper with you. If it wasn't for that video or some of your other videos promoting science (one with Steven Weinberg at some conference in LaJolla and the opening Origins symposium from 'o8 or '09), particularly cosmology, I would have most definitely finished a boring PhD at Columbia in an area of physics that didn't excite me and ended up like many of my friends on Wall Street! So, thanks for 'saving' my academic dreams!! Best Subir EFTA00968074 Lawrence M. Krauss Foundation Professor Director, The ASU Origins Project Co-Director, Cosmology Initiative Assoc.
