Tomi I'm also CCing on this email who is interested in joining the comp. I'll add you three to the group email, and my office hours are Tuesday mornings from 8 to 11 in lamont cafe. Basically what we are doing now is trying to sell advertisements for programs, tickets, curtains, or the website. You can contact companies from Cambridge, Boston, or home to see if they would be interested in taking advantage of advertising opportunities, and buying an ad with us. You can go in person to meet with these people, call, or email them, although going in person or calling is often most effective. Attached is a media kit that further explains the different advertising options, and a description of the Pudding that might be helpful to reference when trying to sell advertisements. I'm also copy and pasting a list of companies not to advertise- these are companies that we have advertised with in the past. Once you look over the list, send me a preliminary list of 15 to 20 companies you might be interested in contacting, so that I make sure you guys don't have any overlaps, and after that list is okayed you're free to get started! Throughout the fall, the main business objective is to get exposure to contacting companies and to learn about advertising. On the social end, we also have business staff bondings (we had our first one this past Saturday) which are pregames when we all just get to hang out and get to know each other better. I am about to send out an email about interviews for business assistant positions- you can also apply to be the business assistant of a particular person on business staff, and do work or projects for that person individually and learn more about his or her position.
