This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the U.S. Virgin Islands and the
ADJACENT Coastal Waters.
.Day One...Today and Tonight
.Thunderstorms...There is a chance of thunderstorms with heavy
rainfall and strong gusty winds across the U.S. Virgin Islands.
.Flooding...Heavy rains could lead to urban and gut flooding.
.Wind...Sustained winds up to 34 mph expected across the islands.
Strong gusty winds up to 50 mph are possible.
.Waves... Hazardous seas up to 10 feet with occasionally seas up to 13
feet are expected across most of the local waters.
.Rip Currents...There is a high risk of rip currents for most of the
local beaches, except for beaches along the north coast of Saint
Thomas and Saint John.
.Days Two through Seven...Tuesday through Sunday
Moisture associated to the remnants of Beryl will continue to move
across the local area, but gradually diminishing until early Tuesday
morning. Once the system moves away from the region, weather and
marine conditions are expected to improve while a mass of drier air
along with some Saharan dust encompass the region. The high risk of
rip current will downgrade to moderate early Tuesday morning.
.Spotter information statement...
Widespread spotter activation is not anticipated, however individual
spotter are encouraged to report high winds, flooding and rip
currents to the National Weather Service in San Juan.
