Dylan Kogan is an outstanding young man who I believe should be included in your
class of 2023. He is a very smart, ambitious, kind and caring person. These are
admirable qualities but not exceptional attributes as you make your difficult choices
among many talented applicants. I am a graduate of the Wharton MBA program and
am keenly aware of the quality of students you are considering for enrollment at the
University of Pennsylvania.
I have known Dylan since he was 11 years old and have continually been very
impressed with his judgement, his intellectual curiosity and his maturity. However, the
qualities that in my opinion make him stand out are his empathy for everyone he
interacts with and his strong desire to give back to others less fortunate. Dylan has
worked for me at JTCC for the last two summers as part of our community outreach
program that introduces the sport of tennis to youngsters in underserved communities
and puts them on the pathway to earn athletic scholarships.
Dylan is a passionate and motivated instructor on the court and was a resourceful
addition to our office team always searching for ways to improve the program. He was
truly committed to our "cause" and his joy in helping others was most apparent. He
also raised over $70,000 in cash and hundreds of donated rackets for needy kids,
which is quite a remarkable achievement for a high school student.
It is obvious that I am a big fan of this impressive young guy. His head is definitely
"screwed on straight" and he is not impressed or distracted by material goods and
superficial things. Dylan Kogan recognizes the value of hard work and integrity and will
be very successful at whatever career path he chooses.
I urge you to accept his application and I know that you will be proud of him as a
student and as an alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania.
Thank you for your consideration.
